Masterclass Tom of Holland
Leer stoppen en mazen met dé specialist op dit gebied; Tom van Deijnen (aka tomofholland) bekend van zijn Visible Mending Programme. Hij zal in deze workshop twee maas technieken behandelen; Swiss Darning (mazen; het versterken van sleets breiwerk bijv elleboog en versiering) en Stocking Darning; (stoppen; het dichtmaken van een gat).
Tom zal ook zijn een deel van zijn verzameling/collectie meenemen voor inspiratie, en praten over waarom het voor hem zo belangrijk is om versleten kleding op een mooie manier te repareren. Je krijgt een lesbrief mee naar huis, twee maasnaalden en de skills om elke gatenkaas sok of uitgedunde elleboogsteken aan te pakken. Je kunt dan je werkstukken met trots tragen, als een 'badge of honour'. Alle oefenmaterialen zijn inbegrepen.
Tom van Deijnen is a self-taught knitter from The Netherlands, who now lives in Brighton, UK. Technique, tradition and narrative inform much of his work. Under the moniker tomofholland, he explores these aspects of knitting and shares his enthusiasm with other knitters through exhibitions and workshops. Hand-knitting has also raised his awareness of the meaning behind garments and his relationship with the clothes he wears.
